On the 4th of December, Free Code Camp and Wavelabs have come together for Hacker Month – a series of 4 coding meetups that will be conducted in 4 sessions across the month. With the first session jumpstarting on a really exciting note, we are totally gearing up for the next one that will happen on the 10th of December.
We had around 30 participants from diverse backgrounds including non-technical folks, experienced coders, freshers etc. Free Code Camp initiated the meeting emphasizing the importance of self-learning and how one can adopt the practice on a regular basis.
As the first meetup was centered around the ‘Idea’ phase, the participants pitched their ideas to the fellow participants. Teams were formed and in the next three sessions, the teams will learn how to code by building apps/projects.
Here’s what the participants have to say:
“Being my first meetup, I was excited to meet different coders around the city and share knowledge with them. Everyone was eager to learn new things and I found the whole meetup very encouraging.”
– Murali Krishna
“For the first time, I saw people from non-technical background come together with the tech folks to learn new skills. The participants were curious and created a great learning environment for each other.”
– Tharun Kumar
Free Code Camp has also created a write-up and tips from the ‘Idea Session’ that you can access here: http://bit.ly/2grTzCN
The next meetup is on December 10th. Get ready to learn and code hard.
